Jean Augusta Harford was born March 4, 1930 in St. Georges Grenada WI. to the Late John Augustus Lashley and Violet Lomey Browne.
Jean Attended School in Grenada, Where she began here career as a Registered Nurse. After Migrating to the U.S.A. to prepare a better life for her children.. Jean began her professional career at Brooklyn Hospital and Later at the Ditmas Park Care Center where she served as Nurse Supervisor until retirement in 2000.
Jean loved to Travel and see the world... Some of her travels included Japan, France, Italy, Africa, London, and many of the Caribbean Islands. She also took many cruises line excursions and visited many tropical destinations. She had a wonderful smile and an infectious laugh that would light up any room.
Jean loved to laugh and enjoyed listening to music, She attended many Broadway Shows and Caribbean Comedy Theatre Productions.
Jean was a strong believer of her faith and practiced this daily by reading scripture and praying which had been her source of strength and courage throughout her lifetime. She welcomed everyone with open arms and would do anything she could do to help. Despite her health situation, Jean never lost her faith and her struggles came to a peaceful end.
Jean departed this life Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the age of 86 after prolonged illness at the Crown Heights Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brooklyn NY.

She is preceded in death by her Sister Joyce Lashley, Brother Deighton Lashley and Grandson Tony King. Jean leaves to cherish her memories... Her Husband, George Harford of St. Pauls Grenada, Three (3) Children, Sharon Gonzalez of Brooklyn NY, Evelyn "Sha" Harford of Brooklyn NY and Ian Shane Harford of Grenada WI. Four (4) Grand Children, Sha'lik Ian Harford of Brooklyn NY, Tiffanie Harford-Lipscomb of Durham NC, Jamel Harford of VA and Jalen "Jean" Harford of Grenada WI. Three (3) Great Grand Children, Donnell Pearson, Kamari Lipscomb and Faith Lipscomb, a devoted Daughter In Law, Jenny Auld-Harford of Grenada WI, her caregiver Ester and close family friends Leo & Niche....and a host of very dear relatives, friends and adopted children... |
