It is often said that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Today, with deep love and honor, we celebrate the life of my father, Aiden Albert Frederick, whose 78 years were filled with joy, laughter, perseverance, love, and cherished memories.
As we gather here today, although we mourn the loss of his physical presence, let us not only grieve but also celebrate a life that was truly well lived. Through our stories, laughter, and shared memories, his spirit will continue to live on in all of us.
Aiden Albert Frederick, affectionately known as "King," was born on February 6, 1948, in New Hampshire, St. George's, Grenada, to Walton Frederick and Cynthia Paul. He was the third child among his siblings, Arthur "Soul" Frederick and Llewellyn "Peter" Frederick.
During his childhood, Aiden attended St. Luke's Anglican School. As a young man, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of island life - stoning mangos, pitching marbles, flying kites, climbing trees, playing cricket and football, and playing guitar in a band with his friends. Those early years shaped the vibrant, adventurous, and spirited man so many came to know and love.
After leaving primary school, Aiden began working as a tailor apprentice under "Seppi" in Happy Hill, Grenada. However, his dream of traveling abroad soon led him down another path. In 1969, he successfully interviewed for the Royal Montserrat Police Force and was given the opportunity to serve alongside his older brother, Arthur Frederick. He served with distinction until 1975, when he left Montserrat to further his education in the United States. While there were challenges navigating the education system, he obtained an Associates degree in 1986 and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2004.
Upon arriving in the United States, Aiden worked as a plumber before transitioning into accounting. He joined Schenker International in 1985, where his dedication and hard work earned him the position of Supervisor of the Accounts Payable Department. He later continued his accounting career with Lufthansa Airlines in the Accounts Receivable Department, where he remained employed until his retirement in 2011.
In 1971, Aiden met the love of his life, Joyce Fagan. They were married in 1986 and their bond continued to grew over the years, remaining devoted to one another until his passing on May 17th, 2026. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories. He was a devoted and loving father to Denver James, Wilbur Daly, Carl Frederick, and Jissele Frederick. He was also a proud grandfather to Baili-Jakeem Daly and Dyman Daly, and a great-grandfather to two beloved boys, Damias & Dymani Daly.

Aiden's legacy of humor, resilience, determination, and love of learning will live on through all who had the privilege of knowing him. His remarkable journey stands as a lasting testament to perseverance, curiosity, strength, and the importance of family and friendship.
Although he may be gone from our sight, his love for his family and Grenada will forever remain in our hearts!
