PM MITCHELL TO ADDRESS INVESTMENT FORUM IN TRINIDAD  
ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, Mon. Apr. 4, 2005: Grenada’s Prime Minister, Keith Mitchell, is set to deliver a keynote address at the 5th Euromoney/Latin Finance Caribbean Investment Forum, which opens today in Trinidad. Mitchell will address delegates at the Trinidad Hilton in Port-of-Spain on the vulnerability of small states and the Caribbean Single Market and Economy and will be using Grenada’s Hurricane Ivan experience as an example of vulnerability and the economic challenges created by natural disasters. He is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Patrick Manning to discuss the Spice Island’s recovery effort with a view to securing more aid for Grenada. A news release from the Office of the Prime Minister said the talks will focus specifically on securing more housing for the people of Grenada and small business activation aimed at more investment and more jobs for Grenada. The Euromoney conference’s aim is to increase awareness of the Caribbean as a regional economic entity; promote the image of the region as an attractive destination for foreign capital; demonstrate to an international audience the opportunities available for investment; define how global political and economic trends affect development, government, finance, investment and trade in the Caribbean and examine the financing of investment and exploring how the region’s decision-makers can interact with the international markets. According to organizers, the 2-day conference will take the format of interactive panel discussions and workshops, aimed at fostering dialogue on topics such as: Five Years On: The Caribbean Single Market in Practice” and’ ‘Caribbean Tourism Investment 2005-2010.’ Other speakers will include W. Alexander Scott, Premier, Bermuda; Owen Arthur, Prime Minister, Barbados; Patrick Manning, Prime Minister, Trinidad and Tobago; D.
