31ST ANNIVERSARY OF GRENADA'S INDEPENDENCE KICKS-OFF I...  
NEW YORK, N.Y., A youth program will mark the start of celebrations of the 31st year of Grenada’s independence tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. The theme of this year’s celebration is, “Rebuilding With A Vision For A Better Nation,” and comes just over four months since Hurricane Ivan decimated the Spice Island. On Sunday January 30, and ecumenical service is set for St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 331 Hawthorne St. (Bet. Nostrand & New York Avenues) in Brooklyn from 3 p.m. while on Saturday February 5, an awards, dinner & ball is slated for Antun’s, 96-43 Springfield Blvd. in Queen’s from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Celebrations wrap up on Sunday February 13th with a cultural show at the Wingate High School in Brooklyn, from 4 p.m. Grenada officially marks its independence day on Feb. 7.
