BUDGET DATE SET FOR APRIL 8
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Anthony Boatswain, will present the 2005 Budget on 8th April, 2005, at the Grenada Trade Centre, Morne Rouge St. George’s, at 10:00 am. This announcement follows the approval of the 2005 Estimates of Expenditure by the Standing Committee on Finance on March 29, 2005. The Standing Committee on Finance, which consists of all members of the House of Representatives, met to consider and approve the 2005 Estimates. The theme for this year’s Budget is “Rebuilding a Better Grenada for All.” The theme reflects the strong emphasis that will be placed on the reconstruction of Grenada in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan. The main priorities of the 2005 Budget will include housing, agriculture, business reactivation, education and training, counseling and the restoration of Government buildings.
