an Emancipation Dinner & Costume Dance
at the Rainbow Inn, in Grenville, St. Andrew’s.
on Saturday August 18 th, dinner is 7:00p.m - 10:00 p.m.
Dancing starts at 9:00 p.m. Costume judging at 11:00 p.m.
This is a first time event! Legal slavery ended 176 years ago in Grenada! Come celebrate!
• Eat the foods of the 1830’s –
jerk jerk, agedee, cocou pau, steam cassava, pound plantain, callalloo, curry goat, stewed fish, peanut chicken, pone and fruits
• Blow a conk shell, beat a drum!
Hold a freedom partner and dance under a flambeau / masanteau!
• Dress as you wish: free person, massa, maroon, buccaneer!
• Enter the dress competition and win prizes!
• Judging by Paul Keens-Douglas, Judy Williams and others!
• Music by DJ Farray and Tivoli Drummers!
• Emancipation History on Display!
Tickets are only $30 for single, $50 for a couple.
