GRENADA GOVERNMENT CONSIDERING ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOOL ...
The Government of Grenada has set up a task force to investigate the establishment of a school bus system. This decision was made yesterday after a Cabinet meeting. The task force is chaired by Minister of Education Hon. Claris Charles and Minister of Communications, Works and Transport, Hon. Clarice Modeste-Curwen. The Government is looking into the establishment of this system for a number of reasons. 1)To assist with the spiralling costs of bus fares for families with children in school 2)To ensure that students arrive and leave school on time 3)To prevent school children from being left on the streets because of the limited availability of seats on buses 4)To protect children from the negative influences which may be transmitted on public buses. The proposed school bus system is inline with Government’s policy of providing assistance and resources to the most vulnerable groups in society. Source: Office of the Prime Minister
