INSIDE GRENADA

Jesus Christ does not deny the realities we face each day. Neither does He offer a system to try to make ourselves better through human effort. He doesn’t talk about a God that is distant, unknowable and unloving.
In fact Jesus offers Himself pure, kind, powerful and alive. He came to reveal a heavenly Father who loves us and He died to prove it, so that we can know God ourselves. What a beautifully unique message we find in the teachings of Christ. In his book Orthodoxy, G.K. Chesterton makes the statement
“..JOY, which was a small publicity of the pagan, is the gigantic secret
of the Christian.”
This tremendous figure of Jesus which fills the gospels, towers in this respect and in every other. Ravi Zecharias, in his discourse Christ in World Religions, states
“Above all the thinkers who ever thought themselves tall
His pathos was natural, almost casual. The stoics ancient
And modern were proud of concealing their tears, He never
Concealed His. He showed them plainly on His face.
Yet He did conceal something.
Solemn supermen and imperial diplomatists are proud of
Restraining their anger. He never restrained His anger.
He flung furniture down the front steps of the temple and
Asked men how they expect to escape the damnation of hell.
Yet He restrained something.
There was in that shattering personality a thread that must be
Called shyness. There was something He hid from all men
There was something GOD refused to show us
When HE walked upon our earth
And I have sometimes fancied it was His mirth.”
That may very well be the glory that John saw in the Revelation and the beauty of what was going on. No wonder everyone fell down and said “Holy, Holy, Holy”
This Christ confronts us today amidst the clutter of our human struggles. He provides for us an understanding of human nature “He knew what was in man”, the spirituality of true worship freeing us from the restrictions of buildings and locations, His unchallenged purity “I find no fault in Him”, and of course, the promise of continuity in life hereafter, a heavenly dwelling.
There is no one in history like our blessed Lord Jesus. Today if you hear His voice, harden not your heart.
