St. George’s: Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell has called his trip to China, a resounding success which will create more opportunities and investment for the people of Grenada. These comments come after successful negotiations with the Mayor of Shanghai, Excellency Han Zheng. Dr. Mitchell complemented the Mayor and the Shanghai Local Government for successfully implementing private public-sector partnerships. He says the cooperation between the Government of Shanghai and the local business community has made Shanghai one of the fastest growing city’s in the world. Dr. Mitchell told the mayor of his desire to have a partnership with the Shanghai business community as a way to create more opportunities for the people of Grenada. Dr. Mitchell says that this will also serve as a demonstration of Grenada’s commitment towards China. According to Dr. Mitchell “the best way to improve relations between countries, is to deepen relations between people… it is people that make these joint ventures work.” Mayor Zheng told Prime Minister Mitchell that he shares the same vision and looks forward to having more direct cooperation between Grenada and Shanghai.
