Hillsborough, Carriacou, April 7th, 2011- The Division of Youth Empowerment within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs is keeping alive the kite-flying tradition of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Kites of different shapes, colours and sizes were featured as the Division hosted a kite-flying day for Carriacou preschoolers on the grounds of the Lauriston Stadium. Acting Youth Coordinator, June Paul, was happy with the schools’ participation in the event, saying it is an effort at forging a closer relationship among the educational institutions. The next major event of the Division of Youth Empowerment is a “Youth Gospel Splash’’ scheduled for June. The objective will be to strengthen ties among young people in Carriacou and Petite Martinique. By Deanna Isaac Carriacou
