There is news that the 2011 CARIFTA Games has been thrown into further doubt after the Bahamas decided that they would not be hosting the event. Bahamas decision to not host the games was because, with less than three months to go, the Bahamas Association of Athletic Association has not yet received a written commitment from North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC). It is believed that Trinidad & Tobago, who had earlier distanced themselves from hosting the games after St. Kitts and Nevis pulled out last year, may now stage the event for the over 700 Caribbean athletes.
