ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Monday, May 17, 2010: The Office of Private Sector Development of the Ministry of Finance is this week hosting a six-person delegation from “Sewang One World” of Korea, who is on an Investment Mission to Grenada. Mrs. Yeja Park, head of the delegation, is the President/CEO of Sewang One World, a part owner of Hyundai Construction, and a board member of Samsung. The delegation will be focusing on exploring investments in the areas of tourism, infrastructure, health and agriculture. In this regard, they will hold meetings with the Prime Minister; the Ministers and Permanent Secretaries of the relevant ministries including Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs; the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC); and the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA). The visiting delegation will also visit some development projects already started but on hold due to financing constraints, including Levera and Mt. Hartman/Hog Island. It is hoped that their visit will lead to investments in some of these areas. This mission forms part of the initiative announced by the Minister of Finance in his 2010 Budget speech where he stated that Government will move to new levels of engagement with both local and foreign investors in the spirit of mutually beneficial partnerships in an effort to improve the business climate, a priority of the 2010 Budget.
