At around 04:15 am on Sunday 27th June 2010, Officers from the Central Police Station on the Carenage St. George’s, responded to a report that the body of a male person was seen floating in the sea water on the Carenage. On arrival, the body of a male person was seen and removed from the sea water, then carried to the General Hospital, where it was pronounced to be dead. The body was later identified to be that of Atiba Ghatt Mc. Millan, a 29 year old resident of Grand Anse St. George. Preliminary investigations by Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department revealed that there were multiple marks of violence on the body of the deceased. A post mortem was conducted on Monday 28th June 2010, and the matter is being treated as a homicide. Meanwhile investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of Mc Millan, and the apprehension of person and/or persons responsible for same are continuing. The Police are seeking the cooperation and assistance of the general public in this regard.
