GULP TO HOLD CONVENTION OVER THE WEEKEND

GRENADA – The Grenada United Labour Party (GULP), the oldest political party in Grenada, will be holding its 2010 Convention on Sunday March 21, 2010 at the Gouyave Anglican School. A General Council Meeting, however, will take place before the Convention. This meeting is scheduled to take place at the Tropicana Conference Room this coming Friday (March 19, 2010) commencing at 3 pm. The party, which has been in a state of reorganization for a few years, has made arrangements for two busses, paid for by the GULP, to collect persons from each constituency for Sunday’s convention. It is expected that all delegates will be seated by 10 am for the closed session. This will be followed by the open session at 2 pm. It is expected that the following executive positions will be contested: President Vice President Political Leader Deputy Political Leader General Secretary Assistant General Secretary Treasurer Financial Secretary Five Trustees Public Relations Officers The GULP has been making steady gains in recent times has been able to attract a number of young persons to its fold. It is quite evident that the GULP is putting the relevant structures in place to show the Grenadian people that it is still a viable political entity and an effective alternative to the other political parties on the island.
