On Friday April 16th, Grenada Distillers Ltd hosted top industry-specific, executives; for an exclusive tasting and reception at its facilities in Woodlands. The event was in celebration of the launch of #37 blends; the 13th in the line of award-winning Clarkes Court products. The affair took place inside Nick’s Barrel House, the retail and tourist centre at the distillery; named after the Father of Chairman and CEO Leroy Neckles. In his address Mr. Neckles said “I want all of you to feel a sense of pride in this unique aspect of our heritage and to recommend #37; to friends, family and associates; as the ultimate experience in Grenadian rums” He went on to say, “My dream is to see #37 represented at the finest corporate and social functions; throughout the length and breadth of Grenada, and the Diaspora and I have no doubt that this vision will soon be realized” Mr. Fred Antoine, General Manager of Clarkes Court in his presentation said “We are ready to stand behind our promise of uncompromised quality and consistency; in the delivery of this exotic and superior product”. Master Blender Ahmad Rasheed, gave a inspiring overview on the making of #37, but the evening was not without its lighter moments; as Mr. Devon Date, Production Manager of Clarkes Court, entertained patrons with his graphic demonstration of tasting techniques. Blend#37 did not disappoint and those present were high in praises of the rum; commenting especially on its bouquet, taste and presentation. Janis Cuffie, Marketing Consultant for the company said that a bottle of this double matured, golden rum; will be available to the public within a week or two, for just EC $100.00. She also indicated that great care and craftsmanship was invested in every detail of the design and presentation of #37; to ensure that it is the centerpiece of any bar. Patrons were provided with an opportunity, to order Limited Edition bottles of #37; which is expected to be numbered and signed by the company’s Chairman, before being delivered. Further they were also privy to the display of a unique line of barrel furniture, which included chairs, portable bars, etc made from used rum casks and manufactured by the Grenada Distillers (photos will be made available on clarkescourtrum.com).
