OPPOSITION LEADER CALLS ON THE GOVERNMENT TO EASE THE ...
click
ST. GEORGE'S, September 6, 2008 – The Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition is compelled to call upon the Government of Grenada to respond with urgency to the cries of the people of this Nation who have been complaining that their financial suffering has increased dramatically since the new Government assumed office. The social safety programmes provided by the New National Party Government have been put on hold, which has resulted in depriving the most vulnerable persons in our society of urgently needed assistance. The voucher programmes that provided uniforms, school books (for secondary schools), transportation and milk and food are no longer available to families in dire need. Road works and construction have ground to a halt, putting significant pressure on construction companies, suppliers and their employees: Many of whom were working on a daily paid rate and are now without income at all without warning or notice. Activity among the foreign investors has slowed, and in some cases stopped, causing lay-offs and loss of revenues for workers, suppliers and even bus operators who used to bring those workers to their places of employment. Store owners are complaining about reduced sales resulting in hardships for their businesses and employees. The house repair programme has been put on hold, leaving families waiting for much needed assistance unable to repair their homes with repairs still waiting to start as well as some very uncomfortable circumstances where roof repair projects for example have been stopped in-progress causing great discomfort for them. There was also a programme that provided rent assistance valued approximately between $400-500 a month for families waiting to move into the housing projects sponsored by the Chinese and Venezuelan Governments. This rental assistance provided the only means available to these families for one of the most basic human needs – shelter. Bus operators are reporting a decline in the number of customers riding their busses as people try to reduce costs by travelling on essential trips only, which is now making it more difficult for bus operators to manage with the soaring cost of fuel. The Leader of the Opposition would like to remind the Government of Grenada that every dollar invested in the social safety net programmes now on hold provided trickle down effects in Grenada's economy, and the removal of this social spending is impacting a cross-section of society that goes far beyond the immediate beneficiaries of the programmes. The extent of this problem is highlighted by the overwhelming number of cries for help the Opposition has received in recent week, causing terrible concern about the plight of Grenadians. Therefore like to extend an invitation to the Government of Grenada to put partisanship aside to work to assist them in any way possible to immediately address these urgent needs before the consequences of failing to do so spiral beyond control. Hangman I will really have too cry shame on you and also on father you all are focusing on to much of the NDC weaknesses and not their strong points now the people just came in yesterday morning and you asking them to deliver promises first infastructure have to be in place and they have to renew the right spirit of theirs before the ball could really start rolling they have to do an exorcism as the demon is still posessing the NNP citizens. It will take more than three months to shape up things slow but sure. Stop acting like little devil in disguises or else I will have to give each one of you a piece of my mind which is the ugly side of me You don't want to see unless I see you giving this government a chance to grow and fix back the economy. Someone saying Grenada going fifty years back I don't see it grenadains are more in touch than ever more they dont'say much but their eyes and ears are open and as for who they want to run the country they also know that but that dont mean we will allow anyone to take liberties. I will be one of the first to condemn when I see something wrong because I am known to condem my friends when they do wrong thas why I have such few friends. Unfortunately the marriage keith had with grenada has been dissolved and the NNP children all you little devils sound like you all are possessed by some supernatural powers, but the cuss of your father keith is in you a** or what, Can father offer him some prayers he need Jesus he and his NNPITES They think they need the country but they really need Jesus. Thats why if I cant say good I dont say bad everyone could see that about roots here and If I cant do good I don't doo bad so if you have nothing good to say be like roots don't say nothing

People are fool everyday by politicans, pastors, preachers and people incharge. It is time for a soul search,we been know as trusting people, that is good.On the other hand we have to do some critical thinking.Recently the Nigerians,Preachers and politicans tried to take advantage of our easy way.I want them to known that kindness is not weakness, they will learn we are a nation of to-getherness.

Tired i think you should go and take your tablet and lie down for two or three weeks because i think you are tired from all the canvassing you have been doing on behalf of the nnp party and now that they lost the election it seems no one has told you that it does not take one swallow to make a summer you see the nnp have been feeding you all (its supporters) a whole lot of bulls plus all the freebies for years and now that they have gone you guys just cant handle that there is a new party in power well to bad you guys will just have to live with that until the time comes when the voters say that the ndc is not delivering the change then and only then through the ballot box you can then vote them out so until then let peace reign for all our sake including the NNP loosers.
