LABOR COMMISSIONER INTERVENES TO END INDUSTRIAL ACTION ...  
Grenada’s Labour Commissioner, Mr. Cyrus Griffith, has intervened in the impasse between the Technical and Allied Workers’ Union (TAWU) and the Grenada Distillers Limited and managed to broker a compromise which resulted in the suspension of strike action that was taken by workers of the business place. The workers were called out on strike by their bargaining agent, TAWU, after nine workers of the business place were sent home for allegedly refusing to sign personalized contracts without the involvement of their union. The management of Grenada Distillers has said, however, that the signing of personalized contracts at the commencement of ever year is a normal practice that has been taking place over the years. The union is demanding that the nine suspended workers be taken back to work with full pay for the days that they were at home. The union and the management of Grenada Distillers Limited are in the process of working out their differences
