damond,am not sure i understand the questions but i will try.my last posting said that i supported the nnp candidate who deserved to win.she did all that was asked of her.for your comment about representatives building new homes or adding extra,am not sure whom you are referring to,but politicians or anyone else for that matter have a right to spend their own personal money how they wish.now if they using public money or stealing then thats a different story.as to your point about people holding their elected officials responsible,i thought that was what they did when they changed the government a few years ago.i don't see how you could ask why they didn't say anything when nnp was in power.the power of change is always at the ballot.

I fully understand your points, however gentlemen-gabe, stallion...here are my problems: (1). Where were the oppostion parties during the reign of NNP? (2). Where there people and why didn't they hold their individual representatives responible for promises made and not kept or delivered? (3). Why didn't the people organize and demonstrated against the corrupt dealings of their elected officials...for example, when money was allocated for road improvement some of the politicians or representatives demanded pay offs from those the contracts were granted. Why didn't the people report such practices? (4). When some of the policians miused government funds to expand their homes or build new ones, where were the oppoisition and the people...why didn't they demonstrate and complain to the prime minister? The elected officials were responsible for their constituents and the people. The people failure to hold those elected official responsible for unkept promises should not be shifted to one man-former prime minister, but rather the people themselves. The people are themselves to be blamed for their demise. This is why it's very important that the people begin to first hold and pressure their representatives to do what is expected of them. And when that has failed then we can fully blame and hold the leadership responsible.

i would like to mention to both damond and gabe about st.mark's.i am from this parish and for too long st.mark's has been neglected by all governments.the nnp candidate for st.mark's clarice modeste is a very wonderful lady.she has given the people of st.mark's alot of hope, thats why she was one of the few nnp candidates that won their seat in the last election.the roads in victoria are quite decent compared to how they were years ago.the youths had more jobs under the nnp.today the unemployment is quite high in st.mark's than it was before the election.i hate to say it but because the government has changed things have gone south.it is very difficult for mrs claris modeste to do things for st.mark's under a different government.like i said before,i will call things as i see it,and am saying that the nnp candidate for st.mark's has done an outstanding job considering the limited resources that she gets from the present government.
