The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has formed a special force with the aim of suppressing crime in the country. This force is ready for speedy deployment in any part of the country where crime is seen to be rearing its ugly head. In a recent press briefing, Grenada’s police boss, Commissioner James Clarkson, stated that some misguided persons are choosing to engage in criminal activities and called on the communities throughout Grenada for their full cooperation in keeping crime in the country to a minimum level. He identified the eastern corridor of the country as an active zone for criminal activities. He also mentioned that Grenada is geographically located in such a way that drugs are entering the country from the north and from the south of the country. In recent times, there has been a spate of housebreaking and robbery in many different parts of the country. Commissioner Clarkson has also appealed to members of the populace to refrain from wearing masks over their faces, especially at nights.
