MINISTER OF EDUCATION COMMENCES VISITS TO SCHOOLS
Minister of Education Hon. Claris Charles continues the drive to bring stability and much needed motivation to all those engaged in the education sector. The Minister, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Mr. Michael Pierre, and Chief Education Officer Mr. Francis Sookram, commenced a series of school visits last week. The visits will continue every Thursday and Friday until all schools throughout the State are visited. Minister Charles met with principals, teachers and students, to inform them about developments in the education sector; update them on rehabilitation efforts, and commend those who continue to display dedication, through sacrifice, post Hurricane Ivan. On Thursday 13th January, the Minister visited the South St. George Government, the Grand Anse R.C., and the Calliste Government School. On Friday 15th January, the team visited teachers and students of the Woburn Methodist School, Wesley College, St. George’s Methodist School, and the Park View Pre-School. This week, the team is scheduled to visit the St. Paul’s Government, St. Dominic’s R.C, Corinth Government, Crochu R.C., St. Giles Anglican, and the Holy Cross R.C. among others.
