FARMERS AWAITING AERP PAYMENTS SHOULD REPORT TO AGRICUL...
The Ministry of Agriculture wishes to advise all persons who have outstanding payments under the Agricultural Emergency Rehabilitation Programme (AERP) that the Ministry is working vigorously to ensure that all payments are processed before the end of February. The Ministry has learned that several persons are yet to be paid and invites those concerned to check with the Agricultural Office in your District to register your complaints about non-payment. The Ministry advises further that the verification of claims is lengthy but must be done in light of several instances of persons not entitled to payment being on pay sheets. In this regard, discussions are being held with the Royal Grenada Police Force to investigate and charge those persons who engaged in fraudulent practices. The Ministry apologises to both farmers and farm workers who are affected by the slow processing of payment and to assure you that all genuine commitments will be met after the necessary verification.
