MORE GUYANESE WORKERS FOR GRENADA'S CONSTRUCTION INDUST...
The Housing Authority of Grenada has secured the services of a further 24 Guyanese construction workers to help boost the labor force in Grenada. The workers are expected to arrive here on Wednesday April 13th. There is a shortage of labor in the construction industry and as a result, the Authority has been forced to seek labor from neighbouring countries. The 29 workers will all be based in St David’s and will channel their energy and skills towards the reconstruction drive in St. David’s and St. Andrew’s. These areas were among the hardest hit by Hurricane Ivan. This is the second group of workers from Guyana that will be integrated into the labor force here. The Authority is pleased with the skills, pace and competency of the first group and believes that the additional workers will be an asset to the Housing Reconstruction Programme.
