The Department of Youth Development in the Prime Minister’s Office begins the first ever Parish Youth Parliament this week. The first in the series takes place on Wednesday 27th April, 2005, at the St. Patrick’s Anglican School beginning at 5:00 pm. The St. Mark’s session is carded for St. Mark’s Secondary School on Thursday 28th April, 2005, from 2:00 pm. Young persons are currently being trained on a parish basis to be better able to execute the debate using the Parliamentary procedures and effective debating skills. The Department will take the Parliament to the other parishes in the coming weeks. Following the final Parish Youth Parliament, two persons will be chosen from each parish to debate at the National Youth Parliament, which is carded for September.
