ROAD IMPROVEMENT ON WOODLANDS ROAD
The Ministry of Communication, Works and Transport advises the public that work is quickly advancing along the Woodlands road, and paving will commence this week. This preparation is necessary because the Woodlands Road will be used as a detour to facilitate extensive work on Springs Road, which will be closed to vehicular traffic while the work is ongoing. The section from Woodlands intersection to Island View Junction has been paved and is completed. Rock cutting is now ongoing on the upper Woburn section; NAWASA will place new water mains along this part of the road. Seventy-Five Grenadians are employed with the project and are working efficiently in the areas of steel bending, masonry, carpentry and plumbing. Other employees include flag ladies, foremen, site engineers, surveyors, lab technicians, time keepers, light and heavy weight equipment operators and truck drivers. A number of drains, retaining walls, cross culverts and road widening projects have been completed along the 2 mile length road. The Ministry of Works, Consolidated Contractors Company Ltd, and DIWI apologies for any inconveniences caused and will like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation.
