The first in a series of training sessions in the Grenada Youth Enterprise Initiative began yesterday (25th April, 2005).
The one-week exercise takes place at the Youth Development Centre in Morne Rouge, St. George from 9 am to 3 pm daily.
More than 150 young persons registered for the programme this year. Of that number the first group of 20 will begin training next week.
They will be trained in the following areas:
Business Opportunities
The Feasibility Study
The Business Plan
Marketing
Business Operations
Financial Management
On completion of training, participants will be required to prepare a business plan which will be submitted for funding upon approval.
The second group of 20 young persons will undergo training from Monday 9th-Friday 13th May, 2005.
The Grenada Youth Enterprise Initiative seeks to train young persons in areas of small business development and management.
Four young entrepreneurs received funding through this initiative in February this year and now run their own businesses.
