The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is seeking to fill the position of Deputy Secretary General. The individual selected will assist the Secretary General in the overall day-to-day running of the organization. More specifically, his or her duties will include: (1) Oversight of the work of the various departments, including monitoring of the outputs of the departments; (2) Administrative oversight of the organization and (3) Overall responsibility for membership services of the organization. Extensive travel will form part of the normal duties of the post. Qualifications and Experience: • A Master’s level degree is preferred. A First degree will be considered together with at least ten (10) years relevant working experience, at a senior level, in Tourism, Management, International Relations or Public Administration. • A minimum of ten (10) years working at a senior management level • Extensive knowledge of the Caribbean region and its tourism products and services • Excellent writing and oral communication skills • Past record demonstrating strong managerial, administrative and interpersonal skills • Considerable experience dealing with the international donor community and demonstrated ability in project identification, preparation, management and proposal writing • Considerable experience dealing with governments and planning, policy development and implementation • A high level of competence regarding the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for business purposes would be a definite asset • Oral and written proficiency in Spanish or French would be a definite asset.
