GRENADA'S ROBERTS PLAYED FULL GAME WITH A BROKEN LEG
Wigan striker Jason Roberts played through the pain barrier last weekend as he helped his side gain promotion to the Premiership with a broken leg. Roberts scored one goal and assisted with another as his side secured an automatic promotion spot with a 3-1 win over Reading last Sunday. “I fractured my tibia early in the game and it's going to take six weeks to recover,” Roberts told The Independent newspaper. “I'm going to go home to Grenada and relax. But I'm confident I'll be fit for the start of the season.” Roberts scored 21 goals in helping his side get into the Premiership which is likely to ensure he stays in the first team next season, despite reports of a £25 million summer spree at the JJB Stadium.
