GRENADA AND CUBA HOLD DISCUSSIONS ON TECHNICAL COOPERAT...  
Sen. the Hon. Einstein Louison, Minister responsible for National Security and Business and Private Sector Development in the Prime Minister’s Office led a five-member delegation to the Republic of Cuba on Sunday May 15 to participate in three days of discussions on technical cooperation between Grenada and the Republic of Cuba, at the Eighth Meeting of the Cuba-Grenada Joint Commission. Co-operation activities including the construction of the New Hospital Project are scheducled to be reviewed and new proposals tabled for implementation in the areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Sports, and Culture among others. A framework agreement governing cooperation between Cuba and Grenada in Health will also be signed given the extensive cooperation in that area. While in Cuba, Senator Louison is expected to meet with the Cuban Ministers of Investment and Cooperation, Foreign Affairs, Education, Public Health and the Head of the Cuban Civil Defence. Other members of the delegation are: Ms Glenna Knights, senior administrative officer in the Ministry of Health, Ms. Pauleen Finlay, senior education officer, planning and development, Ministry of Education and Ms. Cyrilla Steele, foreign service officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. They will be joined in Cuba, by Grenada’s Charge d’ Affaires to that country, Mr. Don McPhail. Minister Louison and his delegation return to Grenada on Thursday May 19.
