CARICOM FOREIGN MINISTERS MEET WITH U.S. SECRETARY OF S...  
In addition to participating in the General Assembly process Grenada Minister’s of Foreign Affairs the Honorable Elvin Nimrod accompanied by Ambassador Denis G. Antoine took part in a meeting of CARICOM Ministers of Foreign Affairs and U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condlezza Rice. The agenda for the U.S./CARICOM meeting included strengthening and deepening the US/CARICOM already strong traditional ties. Other specific items discussed were passport requirements needed for US citizens to travel to the Caribbean, and its potential impact short negative impact on the tourism industry. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs further discussed issues such as criminal deportation, regional security ad both sides agreed to remain engaged on these topics, and to continue addressing them to the mutual benefits for CARIOCM and the US. While in Fort Lauderdale Minister Nimrod also participated in a meeting of the CARICOM Bureau of Foreign Ministers in his capacity as in coming chair of the Bureau. This meeting was requested by Bolivia to update CARICOM on the Bolivarian Maritime dispute with Chile.
