INVESTIGATION CONTINUES IN ARUBA. GRENADIAN AMONG SUSPE...
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (UPI): Three young men continue to be held in Aruba in connection with the disappearance of an 18-year-old Alabama woman. However, there have been no formal charges filed against them, despite word from police that at least one had confessed to killing the woman. Broadcast source reported that a judge in Oranjestad ruled Saturday the men could be kept in custody, allowing police and prosecutors eight days to continue their investigations. Natalee Holloway of Mountain Brook, Ala., was on a high school graduation trip to Aruba when she disappeared May 30. Two security guards at the hotel where Holloway was staying have also been detained. The suspects deny any connection with the honours student. Both men are Aruban citizens, although one is originally from Grenada. A resort island in the Caribbean just north of Venezuela, Aruba's economy depends heavily on tourists. The island is an autonomous member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
