GRENADA GOVERNMENT CALLS FOR PARTICIPATION IN YOUTH OUT...
ST. GEORGE’S Grenada: One week after UNICEF officially announced its plans to launch the Xchange Movement in Grenada on July 8; the Ministry of Youth Development in the Prime Minister’s Office is calling on young adults between the ages of 16 and 30 to register to participate in its Xchange related programmes. The Ministry is also making a call for individuals who wish to be mentors in the Xchange programme. As a mentor, that person will become a big brother or sister as well as a role model to the Xchangers. The Xchange related programmes are skills and vocational training in the areas of sewing, mechanic, handicraft, floral arrangement, woodwork/furniture making, welding, cosmetology, construction, computer repair; agro-processing; electronic/electricity; hospitality; telephone wiring; among others. Employment and training for both males and females are priorities for the Ministry of Youth Development and as a partner with UNICEF to fulfill the objective of the Xchange Movement, the Ministry says that these training will aim to make the participants become productive and socially accepted adults who can make a positive development towards the development of Grenada.
