MORE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRENADIANS  
With the passage of Hurricane Ivan the Government of Grenada has intensified efforts to position its young people for the future. High on the agenda is the provision of avenues for educational advancements especially with the introduction of Caricom Single Market and Economy (CSME), just months away. Despite financial constraints, the Government of Grenada has complemented the existing assistance under the Cuba-Grenada and Caricom-Cuba scholarship programe and has the allocated more than 100,000 E.C. dollars, to help nearly twenty students with airline tickets and stipends. Meanwhile cabinet has also approved approximately 12,000 dollars for medical students currently at St. George’s University with financial constraints, to facilitate the completion of their studies. The Government has approved an additional grant of three hundred dollars each for six-second year students and five hundred dollars each for two first year students attending the T.A. Marryshow Community College. Government has insisted that it will continue to seek out new opportunities for the educational enhancement of the peoples of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique inspite of limitations brought on by Hurricane Ivan.
