Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell met with UWI Chancellor Sir George Alleyne today to discuss relief to Grenadian students. Prime Minister Mitchell had asked and had gotten approval from the University of the West Indies to exempt Grenadian University students from paying tuition fees for one year because of the hardships they were facing as a result of Hurricane Ivan. However, medical students have still been asked to pay. Prime Minister Mitchell told Sir George that medical students also needed the exemption as they too were facing the same hardships as other students.
