ACCUSED MURDERER FAZALL SAHIED TO RETURN TO GRENADA
ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada: Monday, July 4, 2005 marked the 3rd anniversary of the brutal slaying of Gillian Celestine Sahied in Grenada. It was on that day that Gillian, the wife of Fazall Sahied, was killed at her husband’s home in Frequente and her body was dumped on the Baylese Bacolete Beach, St. David, where it was discovered on July 6, 2002. On Monday, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Christopher Nelson announced that a confirmation had been received from London to end the legal battle to have Fazall returned to Grenada. Nelson said that Fazall, through his attorneys, formally withdrew his challenge last week to the British Home Secretary’s order to surrender him to Grenada. It was said by the DPP that if convicted Fazall could face life imprisonment. Fazall according to reports is expected to return to Grenada on Thursday on a Virgin Atlantic flight direct from London. He will arrive at the Point Saline International Airport with security personnel who will ensure a safe arrival. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
