MORE HOUSES FOR THE NEEDY FROM SPICE YOUTH PROMOTION
As they continue in their bold initiative to build twenty (20) houses before the end of 2005, Spice Youth Promotion was active once again over the weekend, this time in the St. David area. Mr. George Mc Donald of Apsley Hill, St. David is the latest needy person to be assisted by the youth group as it strives to play its part in the rebuilding process. Having heard of the plight of Mr. Mc Donald who is unable to walk without the aid of a pair of crutches and who suffers from a number of ailments, Spice Youth Promotion took the decision to assist in whichever way possible. Mr. Mc Donald, a retired shoemaker, had received materials in the housing repair programme as well as materials from a local church but was unable to do the building for himself. Members of the Spice Youth Promotion Housing Committee began construction of a brand new house for Mr. Mc Donald with the assistance of several members of the Apsley Hill Community who gave their time and expertise in true community spirit. “I can't impress how happy, glad and grateful I am for the help and that Spice Youth Promotion and the community came together to help me in a manner like this. Thanks to everybody who helped me.” said Mc Donald. The members of Spice Youth Promotion continue in their drive to play their role in the development of Grenada with many more projects and activities in the near future including the Spice Youth Promotion National Queen Show planned for October.
