GRENADA DISASTER AGENCY ON 24-HOUR STAND-BY
ST GEORGE'S, Grenada: The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) in Grenada is now on 24-hour vigilance as it monitors developing weather patterns in conjunction with the Point Salines International Airport. On Sunday morning the Met Office at PSIA said that a well defined tropical wave is expected to bring cloudy to overcast conditions during the day. Some heavy showers could be expected and may be accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. Residents in flood prone areas should exercise caution as this system has the potential to produce floods and mudslides. NADMA Director, Sylvan Mc Intyre stresses that his office has been monitoring and continues to monitor the emerging weather pattern closely with the assistance of the team of forecasters at the Point Saline’s International Airport. He has again encouraged the public to remain calm. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
