Fifteen Grenadians students have been awarded scholarships to the City University of New York for the 2005 to 2009 Academic school years. Under this scholarship programme the Government of Grenada has approved the following nominations:- four in Engineering; two in Computer Programming, Application and System; two awards in Psychology; one in Chemistry; two in forensic science three in police studies and one in Human Services. The City University scholarships were negotiated by Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell during a visit to New York earlier this year. These scholarships are part of an overall plan by Government to provide more opportunities for young people especially after the effects of Hurricanes Ivan and Emily.
