GRENADA RECEIVES NEW INTENSIVE CARE AMBULANCE  
ST. GEORGE’S Grenada: The General Hospital in Grenada was given a boost, as a brand new intensive care ambulance was handed over to Minister of Health Senator Ann David Antoine at a special ceremony held on Friday, August 19 at the General Hospital. The Ambulance, donated by the Grenadians and Friends Association GFA in Antigua and Barbuda according to Director of Hospital Services Stephen Thomas will be used to maximize time especially in times of emergencies. As the country continues to prepare for Cricket World Cup 2007, it was said that this new ambulance will be paramount importance to Health Sector. President of the GFA Cosmos Marcel emphasised that there is a unique bond between Grenada, the GFA and by extension the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda that cannot be broken, but will only grow from strength to strength. The Association, made up mainly of Grenadians and friends of Antigua; during the passage of hurricane Ivan assisted in many ways and the president said that this is just one of the many initiatives in the pipeline. Minister for Health Senator Ann David Antoine said that this holistic approach will serve well for the health sector. Minister Antoine also received other medical equipment, such as wheel chairs, all donated by companies in Antigua. The Association has assured the Minister and other health official present at the ceremony that they will continue to fly the flags of Antigua and Barbuda and Grenada.
