Mr Cox told Prime Minister Mitchell that he was saddened to hear that Grenada was hit once again by another Hurricane in light of the severe devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan. Prime Minister Mitchell thanked Mr. Cox for the help that the Commonwealth has given to Grenada. Prime Minister Mitchell noted that the Commonwealth was providing very important technical assistance in the form of engineers, physical planners, economists and other specialists who are providing vital services towards the reconstruction process. He also thanked Mr. Cox for the assistance the Commonwealth was providing in helping Grenada’s nutmeg farmers. Prime Minister Mitchell told Mr. Cox that the Government was committed to assisting farmers right across Grenada. Additionally Prime Minister Mitchell thanked Mr. Cox for the Commonwealth’s help towards needy Grenadian students who are studying in universities abroad. Prime Minister Mitchell told Mr. Cox that the Grenadian people will need continued assistance from Commonwealth countries and asked for a special session to address Commonwealth leaders when they meet later this year in Malta.
