GRENADA POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTINGS
ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada (CMC) – Grenada police were continuing investigations into two shooting incidents involving police officers last weekend. The Police Public Relations Office has confirmed the shootings but refused to reveal the names of the officers involved. Reports are, however, that one of the shootings involved a member of the security detail of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell. According to a police statement the incident involved a member of the Personal Security Unit. “Reports indicate that Arthur Noel, a 34-year-old resident received a gunshot wound to his left elbow,” the report said. The other incident involved a 20-year-old man who was shot in the leg after he reportedly attacked two police officers. Last week, Acting Commissioner Winston James announced an investigation has been launched into the removal of three kilos of cocaine from a police storeroom. The drugs were seized from a 32-year-old man who was preparing to board a flight to London. Reprinted from antiguasun.com
