OVER $40,000. TO 4 STUDENTS STUDING ABROAD

Education continues to form a main trust of the ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique affairs and the Government as four more young persons who are either studing abroad or on the verge of departing have received financial assistance from the present administration. At a short cermmony held at the head quarters of the Ministry of Carriacou and petite Martinique affairs last week Thursday, Minister of Cariacou and Petite Martinique affairs, hon Elvin Nimrod , presented cheques valued at ten thousand eight hundred and sixty seven dollars and sixty cents ($10,867.60 ) to each of the four recipients. The four are : Kizza Prime (her mother , Brenda Prime collected on her behalf) who is on the second of three years as a pre-med student at St Francis College in Brooklyn New-yofk; Ackayda Stafford, who from september will be doing a four degree study in psychology at Brooklyn college Bedford avenue, Kindra Mathurine who left on Tuesday for the university of the west Indies cave Hill campus Barbados who she will be pursuing studies in the field of law and Kingsley Thomas who from September 12th will coomence the final of his year programme in Agriculture Administration at the simon Boliva United World College of agriculture and technology in Venezuela. The minister said this is a continues process to help assist the young people with their educational development so that they can better themselves . In youths the minister said lies the future of this country and the minister express confidence that they like those before will continue making this country proud. Recalling a similar presentation just recently, the minister said that this awill be a continuous process as they (Government) strive to provide what ever finances they are capable of providing to have the young people here grasp what ever educational opportunity comes their way. The recipients were all greatful for such donations
