The Prime Minister of Grenada Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith C. Mitchell continued his activities in New York today when he attended the Opening Session of the High-Level Plenary Meeting of the 60th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Heads of State and Government will, over the next three days make their individual contributions and adopt the final outcome document which will chart the course for the work of the United Nations into the future.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Mitchell brought the Caribbean Media up to date on the current situation in Grenada following Hurricanes Ivan and Emily. The Prime Minister touched on plans for development in housing, agriculture, tourism, health, among others. Dr. Mitchell also expounded his views on West Indies Cricket and preparations for World Cup 2007.
As always, the Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to regional and international friends who extended the right hand of friendship to Grenadians in their time of need.
Prime Minister Mitchell will address the Summit on Friday September 15th 2005.
