RESTORATION OF GRAND ETANG NATIONAL PARK
The Ministry of Tourism is proud to be working in collaboration with Unites States Agency for International Development (USAID) to build back better. The Minister of Tourism Hon. Brenda Hood along with a delegation from USAID visited Grand Etang National Park on Wednesday (September 21) to observe the progress of the work that is ongoing there. The Grand Etang project was structurally upgraded according to the Grenada building standards and is close to completion. The buildings will be ready for the official opening of the tourist season October 15, 2005. The Grand Etang National Park was identified along with four other tourist sites for repairs following Hurricane Ivan. Among the delegates from USAID was the Chief Officer responsible for the Caribbean Mrs. Katherine Tuna. She commended the Government of Grenada for their revitalization efforts and said that Grenada has come a long way from what she saw on her first visit to island last September.
