Grenada has received 1.2 million Euros (approximately EC$3.8 million) in humanitarian aid from the European Commission. Due to a recent field study on the damages caused by both hurricanes Ivan and Emily, the Commission saw the need to grant aid to Grenada. This money will be used to assist in the rehabilitation of the housing sector and to facilitate training in disaster preparedness. The project is estimated to benefit 1,678 families who were affected by the hurricanes. Source: Office of the Prime Minister
