CTO, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC'S PHOTO CONTEST FOR CARIBBEAN ...  
Deadline is November 15, 2005 In conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization, National Geographic Traveler magazine has announced the first annual Caribbean Youth Photography Contest. The “In My View” competition invites Caribbean students aged 12-17 to submit photos that they believe capture the best attributes of their country. The images should represent a variety of elements in Caribbean culture — the people, food, landscapes or local events that best describe the spirit of the community. Submissions will be accepted from Sept. 15 until Nov. 15, 2005, and each student may enter up to five images. Students can pick up entry forms at their local school. PRIZES The grand-prize winner will receive a four-day, three-night trip for two (child and parent or guardian) to Washington, D.C., which will include a visit to National Geographic Society headquarters and a tour of the city with a National Geographic photographer, plus a 35 mm digital camera. In addition, the winning student’s photographs will be published in National Geographic Traveler’s May/June 2006 issue. The second-place winner will receive the Ultimate Photography Package of a digital camera and camera carrying case, as well as three National Geographic Society photography books. The third-place winner will receive 10 National Geographic Society photography books. A photo exhibit of some of the finalists’ work will be on display at select travel shows. HOW TO ENTER It's easy... 1. Photograph your Caribbean community — the people, landscapes, and events that best capture the spirit of your country. 2. Select your best images and submit them (up to five) with an entry form to your local Department or Ministry of Tourism 3. Cross your fingers–your image may qualify you to win one of our awesome prizes including a trip to Washington, DC 4. A panel of photography experts will judge the final round–and the best photo will be published in National Geographic Traveler. WHO MAY ENTER Contest is open only to residents of participating countries in the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) who are age 12-17 years at the time of entry. Participating countries are: Anguilla,Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Nevis, Puerto Rico, St. Eustatius, St. Barts,St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Martin, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos, and U.S. Virgin Islands. Employees of the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the National Geographic Society and their agents, affiliates, and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion, and publicity agencies (and their immediate family or members of the same household) are not eligible. Contest is subject to the laws and regulations of each entrant’s country. CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
