So, for $100 you can own any space on the grid to display an image with a link to your website. If you’re rich, you can buy 1,000 pixels and make a really big image to stand out from the crowd. Sounds crazy? Well advertisers bought into the idea and it continues to work like a charm. They say that nothing could beat the original, but refusing to divulge details of his site before its launch, Mitchell promises to do exactly that, by correcting some of the flaws that might stop any other person who attempts this from reaching their goal. Asked if he fears being dubbed a copycat, Mitchell’s response was that “the guy who discovered electricity did not invent the computer.” He says that the original could always be beaten.
