PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad: Trinidadian Prime Minister Patrick Manning on Monday said the identity of persons responsible for four explosions in Port of Spain is no longer a mystery and that the government knows exactly who the culprits are.
“We know who the Mr. Big is in this matter,” said Prime Minister Manning, as he spoke in the country’s parliament on Monday. Mr. Manning was at the time responding to a motion brought by an opposition Member of Parliament, Kamla Persad-Bissesser.
"We are collecting our information and we are bringing to bear the best technical expertise available to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago,” said the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Manning added that while the government knows who the bombers are, investigators were still gathering evidence after which there will be forensic analysis of the findings by Scotland Yard and FBI experts.
The first of the four recent bombings was on July 11 on Frederick Street, Port of Spain, injuring some 15 persons. The second on George Street, August 10, no one injured. The third on September 10 at the KFC food outlet on Independence Square, one person suffered minor injures, and now on October 14 at St. James, with eleven persons being injured, some seriously.
