PM RECEIVES PLAQUE FROM LOCAL WOMEN'S GROUP
Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell , received a plaque in recognition of his continued dedication towards the Grenada’s rebuilding and his excellent leadership qualities by a group of industrious young women from St. George’s. The group known as Sun Seekers Cooperative presented the Prime Minister with the plaque after he visited the recently refurbished women’s cooperative building at Camerhonge Park on the popular Grand Anse Beach in the South of the Island. In presenting the plaque one of the members of the cooperative told the Grenadian Leader that the members of the organization felt that he had deserved the honour because of his commitment to nation building and excellent leadership qualities. A surprise Dr. Mitchell thanked the women for the honour and encouraged them to continue to provide the excellent service they are providing to the people of Grenada and visitors to the island. The visit to the women’s cooperative was one of the many visits the Prime Minister made as part of his new and exciting “Touching Base”, initiative which was launched last week. Accompanying the Prime Minster on his “Touching Base” was the Minister of Health, Social Security the Environment and Ecclesiastic Relations Sen. the Hon. Ann David Antoine. While “Touching Base” with the people in St. George’s South, both Dr. Mitchell and Minster Antoine, met with the principal, teachers and students of the Woburn Primary and Methodist Schools; local entrepreneurs Eva & Irva, the owners of a Beauty Saloon at Woodlands; the operators of the Morne Toute Laundry Mart; and a family from Jean Anglais whose dwelling house is being rebuilt with assistance from the Housing Project.
