ST GEORGE'S, GRENADA: The Grenada Union of Teachers (GUT) says it is mobilizing its members for a solidarity demonstration on Friday in solidarity with workers at the Demerara Mutual Life who has been protesting a plan by the company to do away with profit-sharing. The workers at the insurance company is being represented by the Commercial and Industrial Workers Union -- and has been locked in the protracted battle for two months, with no end in sight. The GUT said in a statement issued Wednesday that Friday's march will be the first step in other actions if the dispute is not settled soon. Reprinted from caribupdate.com
