LARA MOVES TO NO. 2 IN ICC BATTING RANKINGS  
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (CMC) - Batting superstar Brian Lara has moved up five places to number two in the LG International Cricket Council Test batting rankings following the three-Test series against Australia that concluded recently. The 36-year old, former West Indies captain now holds the new record at 11,204 runs from 121 Tests. Lara trails South African Jacques Kallis, who holds the top position, while Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who scored 329 runs in the just concluded series with two centuries, is third in the rankings. West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul is ranked 14th, while Chris Gayle (29) and Ramnaresh Sarwan (30), round out the top 30.
